Biography
Soprano Doreen Taylor-Claxton's mesmerising voice is characterised by its colour, warmth and clarity of tone. A competition winner in both England and Canada, she has performed repeatedly for the French and English services of CBC. Doreen holds a B.Mus. from University of Toronto, and a M.Mus. from the University of Ottawa. Recently her work has focused on collaborations between active Canadian composers and poets. She has performed several world premieres at music festivals in Canada and the United States. She released her debut CD, The Spinning Wheel (2004) and Hail, a premiere recording of Canadian art song in 2006.
